This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the ‘Autumn Aloft‘ festival in Park City, Utah. It’s an event showcasing several Hot Air Balloons from the region. Here’s some photos from the event.
Hot Air Balloons aren’t out of the ordinary in Park City. There are several sightseeing operators which offer rides for hire. It is a great opportunity to see the beautiful Wasatch Mountains and in such a serene way. An annual hot air balloon festival hasn’t been a regular occurrence until last year when the festival was brought back after a twenty year hiatus.
Over two dozen balloons participated this year and filled the skies above town, dazzling the spectators below. The scenery and fall colors of Park City added a nice backdrop for the balloons to peacefully float through the air.
Even if you couldn’t make it to the Autumn Aloft festival this year, Park City is beautiful with fall colors and pleasant weather right now. Take an opportunity to visit, its a short drive from Salt Lake City.

Here’s a quick time-lapse I made of the balloons launching. Music credit: Nathan Bowen.
I love how they bounce around. I want to do the same thing at Provo’s Freedom Fest this year.
